William Edward Mosher, a 70-year-old who grew up during the Second World War in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn NY, has been a New Hampshire resident for the past 40 years, raising two daughters who graduated from Nashua Senior High School. He has been married for 45 years to Milvia Julia Mosher.

Mr. Mosher served two terms as a state representative; served as chair of two passenger railroad committees, and served on the Commuter Rail Steering Committee.

Some of his goals for this term on the Board of Education are to see expanded foreign language courses, increased exposure to opportunities in the electrical and mechanical crafts for our middle and high schoolers as well as keeping a sharp eye on the operations and expenditures of the District.

Mr. Mosher attended schools in Brooklyn majoring in chemistry, physics, and other sciences. He took courses in aircraft drafting, electronics, and railroad administration. In 1962 Mr. Mosher began a career in transportation with the Long Island Rail Road. He attended technical courses from WABCO, GE, Westinghouse, NYU Television Production, Locomotive Performance at Electro-Motive Division of GM and gained certification from the AAR to teach roller bearing and certification for the repair facility. Mr. Mosher gained federal certification in the operation and repair of locomotive speed control apparatus before moving on to become Supervisor of Training for the Apprentice Program, entry level personnel per a CETA program. In 1996 Mr. Mosher qualified as a Federal Safety Inspector (FRA).

Mr. Mosher moved to the Boston & Maine Railroad as Supervisor of Equipment Training to designate and implement training courses for machinists and electricians in locomotive engines, electronic controls, and air conditioning for train cars. Mr. Mosher also designed a STIP Course, (Skill Training Improvement Program) for the Boston & Maine RR, in conjunction with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

From the Boston & Maine RR, Mr. Mosher moved to Hesser College where he taught CETA courses in computer electronics. Then with the Indian Head Bank, Mr. Mosher assumed management of the Transportation Department and Office Services. He then returned to the railroad and retired from the St. Lawrence & Atlantic RR in 1997.
